Job description
Term-time support in Key Stage 1, including one-to-one work.
An opportunity has come up for a Teaching Assistant, Primary based in Norwich. You would be joining a settled team that has grown steadily, and taking on work that matters to the people we serve — with the time and support to do it properly.
About the role
- Support pupils individually and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.
- Help prepare resources and keep the learning environment ready and welcoming.
- Contribute to assessment records and to conversations about how a child is getting on.
- Support pupils with additional needs, including any agreed one-to-one work.
- Follow safeguarding procedure without exception.
What we are looking for
- Experience with children of this age group, and an enhanced DBS we can verify or renew.
- Reliability — the team notices when somebody turns up when they said they would.
- Clear communication with colleagues, and with customers where the role involves them.
- The judgement to work unsupervised, and the sense to ask when something is not clear.
- A careful approach to safety and to your own standard of work.
What we offer
- Company pension, and life cover after your first year.
- A rota published well in advance, so you can plan around it.
- Staff discount, a cycle-to-work scheme and an employee assistance line.
- Genuine progression — most of our supervisors started in this role.
- A permanent contract and a proper induction, not a fortnight of guessing.

FAQ
Do I need experience to apply?
Read the "What we are looking for" list above. If you meet most of it and are willing to learn the rest, apply — we would rather see you than not.
Can I visit before I apply?
Yes. Ring ahead and we will arrange a time to show you round Norwich so you know what you are taking on.
Is there parking or transport nearby?
There is on-site parking, and we are a short walk from the nearest bus route. Ask if you need the details.
What are the hours and the rota?
The pattern is set out at interview and published well in advance. If you have a fixed commitment, tell us early and we will be straight with you about whether it fits.
Do you offer training?
Yes — a proper induction, and funded training towards the qualifications the role needs. Nobody is left to work it out alone.
