Job description

Fresh food kitchen, two rosettes, straight shifts and no split days.

We are looking for a Chef de Partie in Bath. You do not need to arrive knowing everything; you do need to care about the standard of what you hand over, and be willing to ask when something is not clear.

About the role

  • Run your section through service, keeping standards up when it gets busy.
  • Prepare and present dishes to spec, with consistency the priority.
  • Keep the kitchen and front of house clean, stocked and compliant with food safety.
  • Support and train newer members of the team.
  • Help with ordering, stock rotation and keeping waste down.

What we are looking for

  • Kitchen or front-of-house experience at a comparable standard.
  • Clear communication with colleagues, and with customers where the role involves them.
  • The judgement to work unsupervised, and the sense to ask when something is not clear.
  • A careful approach to safety and to your own standard of work.
  • Willingness to learn the parts of this you have not done before.

What we offer

  • A rota published well in advance, so you can plan around it.
  • Staff discount, a cycle-to-work scheme and an employee assistance line.
  • Genuine progression — most of our supervisors started in this role.
  • A permanent contract and a proper induction, not a fortnight of guessing.
  • Paid training and support towards the qualification the role needs.

How to apply

Use the apply button on this page and send us a CV. A covering note is welcome but not required — if you would rather tell us in a paragraph why Chef de Partie is of interest, that is just as useful. We read every application and reply either way.

We are an equal opportunities employer. If you need any adjustment to the process, say so when you apply and we will arrange it.

FAQ

Can I visit before I apply?

Yes. Ring ahead and we will arrange a time to show you round Bath so you know what you are taking on.

Is there parking or transport nearby?

There is on-site parking, and we are a short walk from the nearest bus route. Ask if you need the details.

What are the hours and the rota?

The pattern is set out at interview and published well in advance. If you have a fixed commitment, tell us early and we will be straight with you about whether it fits.

Do you offer training?

Yes — a proper induction, and funded training towards the qualifications the role needs. Nobody is left to work it out alone.

Can I apply if I need a visa?

Tell us your situation when you apply. We cannot sponsor every role, but we will give you a clear answer rather than leave it unsaid.

Would you combine postage if I win more than one of your lots?
