Job description
Trunking work from a modern depot. Nights out paid, home every weekend.
An opportunity has come up for a HGV Class 1 Driver based in Birmingham. You would be joining a settled team that has grown steadily, and taking on work that matters to the people we serve — with the time and support to do it properly.
About the role
- Complete assigned routes safely and on schedule, with daily vehicle checks before you set off.
- Load and unload carefully, checking counts and condition against the manifest.
- Keep the handheld up to date so customers get accurate tracking.
- Report defects, delays and near-misses promptly — we would always rather know early.
- Represent us well at the door: most customers meet nobody from this company but you.
What we are looking for
- A full licence with no more than six points, and the category the role requires.
- A careful approach to safety and to your own standard of work.
- Willingness to learn the parts of this you have not done before.
- Reliability — the team notices when somebody turns up when they said they would.
- Clear communication with colleagues, and with customers where the role involves them.
What we offer
- Genuine progression — most of our supervisors started in this role.
- A permanent contract and a proper induction, not a fortnight of guessing.
- Paid training and support towards the qualification the role needs.
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays, rising with service.
- Company pension, and life cover after your first year.

FAQ
What are the hours and the rota?
The pattern is set out at interview and published well in advance. If you have a fixed commitment, tell us early and we will be straight with you about whether it fits.
Do you offer training?
Yes — a proper induction, and funded training towards the qualifications the role needs. Nobody is left to work it out alone.
Can I apply if I need a visa?
Tell us your situation when you apply. We cannot sponsor every role, but we will give you a clear answer rather than leave it unsaid.
How long does the process take?
We shortlist within a week of closing and interview the week after. You will hear from us either way — nobody is left wondering.
What happens at the interview?
A conversation with the manager you would report to, about 45 minutes, plus a look round wherever you would be working. No presentations, no puzzles.
