Teaching Assistant, Primary

Term-time support in Key Stage 1, including one-to-one work.

An opportunity has come up for a Teaching Assistant, Primary based in Norwich. You would be joining a settled team that has grown steadily, and taking on work that matters to the people we serve — with the time and support to do it properly.

About the role

• Support pupils individually and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.
• Help prepare resources and keep the learning environment ready and welcoming.
• Contribute to assessment records and to conversations about how a child is getting on.
• Support pupils with additional needs, including any agreed one-to-one work.
• Follow safeguarding procedure without exception.

What we are looking for

• Experience with children of this age group, and an enhanced DBS we can verify or renew.
• Reliability — the team notices when somebody turns up when they said they would.
• Clear communication with colleagues, and with customers where the role involves them.
• The judgement to work unsupervised, and the sense to ask when something is not clear.
• A careful approach to safety and to your own standard of work.
